Dupe Alert! NYX Indian Pink vs Chanel Montecarlo

So since I have a crappy camera (oooh Im hoping hubby would keep his promise on getting me.. err us a DSLR camera this Christmas). I have no photos that I own to share and compare so I would use pictures from other blogs :\

So here's the story, I was out and about looking for a dupe for NYX's Indian Pink, it's a lovely shade of pink, peach, coral and gold. Color-wise it was perfect, however it fades, it bleeds, it feathers in a short amount of time haha I can even see it leaking to my chin (not kidding! not a pretty sight!) so I have to check when using.

According to the blogs Ive read MAC Thrills was a "dupe" or was it the other way around? So I got that and it was too coppery, too dark, and not flattering for me at all

Dropping by the Chanel counter the SA recommended me a random lippie to try, and lo-behold! Eureka! A perfect dupe!!! Its an improved version of NYX's

Different lighting but ehhh.. hehe - credits to makeupandbeautyblog & frmheadtotoe

I would try and update this post with pics that I took when I get the chance to get a good shot -_-;

Review: Lush Color Supplement

After reading sis Heatherette's blog, I was enabled to try Lush Colour Supplement.
Who could resist the description?

Perfect for giving an even, flawless look to your skin; these little beauties will cover up the odd blemish and tone down any redness. They can be used by themselves as a normal foundation for more concentrated coverage, or they can be mixed with our beautiful moisturizers to give a lighter, more dewy complexion. Made with red rose petal infusion to calm redness and glycerine to help your skin retain moisture, these mineral oil-free Colour Supplements do lovely things for your skin.

Most foundations and cover-ups contain mineral oil, whereas LUSH Colour Supplements are mineral-oil free! Mineral oils can cause allergic reactions and bumps on the skin. It is also the number one tested ingredient on animals in the cosmetic industry.

I wasnt really planning on buying the foundation since I just bought Face Architect from Shu but the effect was amazing on me that I just had to also get this one.

Quantitative Ingredients

  • Fresh Rose Infusion (Rosa centifolia),
  • Soya Oil (Glycine Soja), (this is comedogenic)
  • Titanium Dioxide,
  • Rice Bran (Oryza sativa),
  • Stearic Acid,
  • Talc,
  • Glycerine,
  • Triethanolamine,
  • Cetearyl Alcohol,
  • Tudor Willow Color (Iron Oxides),
  • Tudor Oak Color (Iron Oxides & Talc), Tudor Mahogany Color (Iron Oxides & Talc),
  • Tudor Mahogany Color (Iron Oxides & Talc),
  • Methylparaben,
  • Propylparaben.

Oops! IT has parabens :( But most foundies have them so.. what the hey hehe.. but it's nice to know that the rose petal infusion tops the list. Soya oil is great for fine lines but is comedogenic so beware

Yep, I put foundie only on half of my face.
Haha!

Shade: Light Pink

What I Like:
  • The glowy finish
  • Color match, it brightens my face without giving a white cast
  • Highly blendable, with buildable coverage
  • Can be mixed with your fave moisturizer
  • Rose petal infusion tops its ingredients list
  • Great for people with dry skin
  • Cruelty free!
  • Affordable: Price - Around 500 pesos
  What I Like:
  • The soybean oil can be a tough comedogenic for oily-skinned
  • If youre looking for "oil control" this doesnt have this feature, this is just moisture+pigment
  • The packaging is a bit unhygienic since you dip your fingers or brush in the glass jar
Who would I recommend this to?
As I mentioned, people with dry mature skin would love this product. Also those who really dont like putting on makeup since it can be thought of as a tinted moisturizer. Well, it is a color supplement! :)

MAC Pink Nouveau

I've been reading a lot of raves from this particular shade of lipstick lately so I just got to try it! *jumps up and down with glee*

When I want a pop of color on my face, I reach for my lippie rather than shadows or blush. Why? Because its so convinient to just slap it on my lips without any mirror (ehem, my lips are quite "big" or "full" so its foolproof haha).

Most lippies I have are quite similar; Note to self:  Stop purchasing similar hot pink lipsticks!!!!
so this is new to me.

It's a bright, blue-based pink that on me lean towards to lilac

I love it when first applied however after some hours or so, it fades into a corpse-like tint on my lips thats a very very unpleasant sight! So I have to check every now and then if I need to re-apply. It's also a bit drying making my lips chappy and more zombie looking as time passes.

So what do you think gals? Have you tried MAC's Pink Nouveau? Do you think it suits me?
What more shades can you suggest?

Haha :)

Love lots and missing you all,
K

I Hit a PAN!

I hit a pan! I have hit my very first pan!!!!
Well not actually a pan, I emptied up a tube of moisturizer.
That is some achievement for me because I usually switch because I'm not
satisfied with it.

Some moisturizers are sticky, make me oily, clog pores etc.
This one is the best, perfect, no-fuss, effective skin product ever.

Want to know what it is?

It's celeteque water-based moisturizer!

Review can be read here:

I finished this off in around 4 months of daily usage.

Use this when your lazy
Use this at night.
I use this mostly at night because I dont want any heavy feeling when I sleep.
And when I wake up, walah! Glowing :)

PS
I currently use Gluta-C Whitening Age Defying Treatment during daytime because of SPF25, oil control etc, but that's a different story, thanks to my shade twin kim for recommending this!

200 Beauty Tips Series: Saving Face : Ice Cubes for Pores

Okay, so I skipped numbers, I didnt want to include "weight loss" tips on the book since I dont care much for weight as long as we're eating healthy. Here are some skin care tips that I can share

1. Ice Cubes kept Joan Crawford looking young. Every morning she washed her face with ice cubes in water to plump up wrinkles and close pores

K Says: I used this technique when I was in highschool, and it did wonders in keeping my pores appear smaller and my skin felt nice and firm. But I got too lazy to continue this and used a toner instead haha

Review: Kiss Me Heroine Make Me Long and Curl Mascara

*whew* That was a long name. Japanese makeups tend to have a long name that it describes the product itself completely! Haha

What I Like
  • It lengthens, it volumizes! Just like they said
  • It doesnt  clump. It didnt clump or gave me spider lashes up to 8 coats
  • I can put mascara on my lower lashes without smudging
  • Lasted me throughout the day
What I don’t Like
  • The brush, it's hard to coat the smaller lashes
  • As with all japanese mascaras, this was hard to remove
  • I dont like the cheapo packaging hehe
Who will I recommend this to?
To non-experts who want a fuss free mascara application without the clumps

Will I repurchase?
Nope. Haha, have not found my HG mascara yet.
