Helloooooooo *echoes*
How's everybody doing? Did you notice that I was away for quite a bit? I took a "short" vacation and visited my loving husband in Singapore! It was my first time to go to another country and... haha I should hold my horses and tell the story on my next post.
When Chic Hits The Pan will go for a quick revamp and construction for a bit. I'm going to try and declutter the blog and make this more user-friendly and blog-readable and not just post random labels here and there or post reviews with different weird stuff haha. I still feel light and airy from my travel. TTFN! Ta ta for now darlins!

Look forward to a BIGGER, BETTER, BRIGHTER BLOG that would no longer cater to JUST beauty, but also how wonderful it is to live life :)

Hello pretty gals! How's everybody doing? It's kinda hectic and busy at my work but it's a really good thing to have this blogging as a hobby, kinda releases stress and tension haha I think of makeup and prettifying instead! It's kinda overdue since Ive been using TheBalm Cosmetics for some time now (Their concealer for 2 years already). On and off because I stray off to other brands.

Yep, same story of not being content to stuff that actually works and still try other stuff that will just make your skin worse.

Here are some of my favorite TheBalm goodies.. after the jump.

As you all know, one of the best makeup item you can own is a mascara. You can skip makeup like foundation or blush if you want but having an eye that just look ka-pow makes a gal look blooming and awake (except when you get the dreaded racoon eyes O_O). A mascara that is volumizing, lengthening, curling, waterproof, yet easy to remove. That was a dream of mine. Has this impossible dream come to reality?

I got this together with my other Etude haul because I was looking for a cheap setting spray that could help improve the staying power of my makeup and somehow control the oiliness on my t-zone.

Was it successful in doing so?

If you could eat one kind of food forever, what would it be?
Mine is obviously CEREALS! I could eat em for breakfast, for lunch, for snacks, for dinner, with milk, without milk, with cookies, with chocolates, with fruits, with nuts!

I craved for cereals in the middle of the day, good thing they're readily available in most malls, thanks to Cerealicious..

Why  haul? with a question mark? Because I will be posting stuff that I will be getting, and a haul is classified as a lot of stuff, but I dont want to call it "purchase" or..
ack.. haha Im not good at explaining!

Anyway, here are some of the stuff I got from Etude House today..

Interpretation care/of

I'm a powerful lucid dreamer, I tend to have very vivid dreams and can frequently remember each detail, color, scent, taste, place, time. There are times that I am able to control my dream, I have also experienced dreaming through several stages ala inception. I want to share with you guys, and also as a part dream-journal to myself, my strange dreams (what dreams are normal anyway? haha)

To dream that you are in possession of or taking drugs, signifies your need for a "quick fix" or an escape from reality. You may be turning to a potentially harmful alternative as an instant escape from your problems. Ask yourself why you need the drugs. What do you hope the drugs will achieve for you?
To dream that you or someone overdoses, suggests that you do not know your limits. You may be pushing yourself too hard. Alternatively, the dream means that you are on a self-destructive path and need to make some significant changes.
To dream that you are dealing or selling drugs, represents changes.

To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what you like about them. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, the dream indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life anymore. In particular, to dream about the death of your parents, indicates that you are undergoing a significant change in your waking life. Your relationship with your parents has evolved into a new realm.
To dream that you are faking your own death, suggests that you are looking for a new start. You need some change in your life.   meanings by
To dream that you die in your dream, symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or your life. You are undergoing a transitional phase and are becoming more enlightened or spiritual. Although such a dream may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm as it is often considered a positive symbol.  Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. These changes does not necessarily imply a negative turn of events. Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something.meanings by
On a negative note, to dream that you die may represent involvement in deeply painful relationships or unhealthy, destructive behaviors. You may feeling depressed or feel strangled by a situation or person in your waking life. Perhaps your mind is preoccupied with someone who is terminally ill or dying. Alternatively, you may be trying to get out of some obligation, responsibility or other situation. You are desperately trying to escape from the demands of your daily life.
To see someone dying in your dream, signifies that your feelings for that person are dead or that a significant change/loss is occurring in your relationship with that person. Alternatively, you may want to repress that aspect of yourself that is represented by the dying person.
Red lipstick really looks good in the evening, especially under low warm lights. Here's a photo of an officemate and me in our Western-inspired Christmas party. It looked less harsh compared when worn under daylight.

I wore this under lipbalm. This is the DRYEST lipstick made EVER but the BEST RED (for me)

Under daylight. Love the necklace my grandma gave me for Christmas! :)

I've been silently doing this skincare for about 2 years now. I dont do 100% full OCM but occasionaly do this whenever I feel my pores are clogged and want to take a breather for a while.

I learned this from this website and it's instant effects are amazing.

Why do I like oil cleansing method?

1. Feeling the bits of dirt, whiteheads, and blackheads being sucked out of your skin is gratifying.
2. My skin has turned from oily to normal
3. Less cloggage

It's a hassle to do this daily, and I did it a bit differently. I use 70% sunflower oil with 30% castor oil and when Im lazy instead of rinsing it off with warm water, I just wipe off with wipes. (ack!) I rub it in for around 30 minutes to an hour max until I feel that my pores are really unclogged.

Here's a useful guide to help you in choosing your base oils. Be wary of using comedogenic oils at it may do more harm to your skin than good. credits to Soap Nuts

Boo to pudgy nails. I should stop my nail biting!
Crabtree and Evelyn's Hand Cream. THE BEST.

If you want to feel like royalty, without breaking the bank. This hand cream is a must. If you don't want to purchase it, try it for yourself at their store. No this is not a paid advertisement, but it seems like this hand cream is so good that I have to share the good news to everyone.

I read in a lot of forums, especially in femalenetwork's girl talk that this is one of the best hand creams they have tried in their entire life. I am no fan of hand creams. I don't have rough hands and I'm content with how they are and I had no plans of purchasing this, but I just had to try!

I went to their store in SM Megamall and saw the handcream in a toothpaste like tube. Blah, wasnt expecting anything, I even over applied, it felt greasy, and sticky and greasy!. I left the store to go and shop some more..

A few hours later, I noticed something, my hands felt different.. It felt.. "rich" Haha.. It was so soft, baby-skin soft.. It smelled so good. It felt so.. "right"... No words can describe this luxurious hand cream so go try it out for yourself, it changed my point of view on hand creams.

For scents, I suggest getting La Source as its mild, I bought the rosewater one because La Source was out of stock :(

Make sure you buy from trusted shops like Rustan's or if you're from out of the country, try locating an official retailer near you. There has been news that some online reputable multiply shops are selling fake beauty blenders just less than a couple of bucks and theyre fake.

Theyre packaged without a box and a sachet cleanser and only the sponge is sent. This is according to buddies at

A warning to everyone! If you want a cheaper alternative, get a Sonia Kashuk instead.

Oh, I forgot to mention how I love my beauty blender!!!

bounce bounce bounce its as chubby as my cheeks teehee

Here's a picture of half side with foundation using beauty blender using chanel teint innocence (my HG? I hope so, review coming soon too). I apply it using the stipple bouncy motion, using the smaller side for my undereyes and such. I like how it makes skin look airbrushed and flawless. It's perfect since I've been breaking out a lot for the past few days (Oh I hope its not because of teint innocence :( )

My only wish for this is, I hope they make it more, travel-friendly. Like for working gals like me who sometimes does their makeup at the office or in the car it would be nice if they had a small carrying case.
That's why I only use this on weekends hehe and fingers during work days.

How about you guys? What brush or tool do you use for your foundation? Fingers? Brush? Sponge? Beauty Blender?

Guess which?

This quaint restaurant was first mentioned to me by my Tita who always order their food for
there meetings. She keeps telling me how divine their crepes are, the best crepes there is (in the Philippines)

I have only tried Crepes n Cream, and when my hubby and I are craving for crepes to munch on, I told him
that we should go to Cafe Breton instead.

The waitress told me that their best seller is "Fantastic Pinay"
and I was overwhelmed by the amount of nutella and chocolate on top of the crepe. Not the usual few drips here and there.
IT was completely slathered in nutella, chocolate and whipped cream. I got so excited that I took a bite even before
taking a picture. Haha.. It has yummy sweet tarty ripe mangoes inside. It was a perfect blend of sweetness, saltiness, and
fruit. Not your average crepe. You'll be wanting to eat it again and again!!

Update 09-09-2011: I invited my cousin and my aunt to eat there and they loved it as well!!!

So tired guys.. Im just so tired today... It took me an hour before I get to ride an MRT to Shang just so that my tita can pick me up there.. and then go home.. how about you guys? hope you are okay this week..
It's probably one of those days where you're just so tired of working day to day and just want a long break..

It's one of those post-holiday hangovers.. :D

Here's the lip swatch + with face.. I look bloated! Haha!

This was just taken.. today! Under natural sunlight

Chanel Rouge Allure Flamboyante #84

Just had to share.. :) Im a kitty fan!
Super cute kitty stamp happy meal from McDonalds!

Okay.. I've been blessed to have received 2 lipsticks from the 2011 Spring Collection from Chanel and the first one I've tried is Jersey Rose because a GT (girltalk) buddy requested for it. I was planning to post Flamboyante first though haha!

The formula of Rouge Coco is not something to look forward to since it can make dry lips even chappier so make sure you have a lipbalm underneath! I have quite pigmented lips and jersey rose is pigmented enough to cover that up and make my lips look fresh and juicy. haha! I cannot quite explain the color on me.. The color of this lipstick is enough to brighten up a dull face and make look dolly instead ;) ;)

A better review and swatch of this lippie can be found here

Cheaper alternative?: I got similar effects when I used Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in Pink

I find Eva Longoria very pretty even without makeup on

Before anything else, I want to greet all my readers a VERY VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR! * hugs to everyone*

My hubby, me, and our precious baby (If anyone wants to get my baby boy as a model just contact me haha)

I will not wear any makeup for 30 days starting tomorrow until my hubby and I are together again. If there's a post with me wearing makeup, thats probably past photos aching to be posted for a review (ehem beauty blender, ruby woo, and teint innocence compact)

No foundation.
No lipgloss
No blush.
No eyeshadow.
Not even cheek or lip tints.
Not even tinted moisturizers.
Though.. I can still BUY makeup, just not USE it not until after 30 days

Nadda! For 30 days

Why am I doing this?

  1. To give my skin rest
  2. To see if my skin will look better for days without makeup on
  3. Just plain lazy, I feel so uninspired to look pretty without my hubby :(
  4. Want to challenge myself to focus on skincare
  5. Sorta new year's resolution.

I am swearing my oath in this blog that I will only use moisturizer  + sunblock for protection.

I hope I can do this guys!

How about you? What are your new year's resolution

Mine is: Will only purchase makeup and clothes within a limited weekly budget!
