Pink Friday: Chanel Narcisse Joues Contraste : Review and Swatches

It's another Pink Friday!!!! Wooohooooo..Don't we all love fridays? (especially payday friday which was last week) It's a day where we look forward to the weekend.. weekend.. it's Friday friday... LoL sorry for that!
First of all, I will stop posting with the "click here to read more" I found it was also annoying and would be better to see the whole post all throughout.. !

Next is.. of course, the star of this post.

It's the Chanel Joues Contraste in Narcisse. A blush that will give you oh so slightly fresh pink color that will make your dull skin appear healthy and blooming. I almost forgot about this blusher when I also fell in love with Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick. But alas, I cannot use a super shimmery rouge during office and daytime. So I remembered my beloved Narcisse.
It just glows with flash :)

It's not warm, it's not cool. I can say it's definitely a neutral pink that will match cool warm or neutral tones. I'm just not so super sure if it would show up on our gorgeous morenas (tans) since the pigmentation is quite light. Even when applied with a heavy hand it still looks natural.

In this photo I put on 5 layers already on my cheeks just for it to show up. It comes with a very soft and useable mini brush.

Trivia: Chanel blushes actually come from either US or EURO. US have softer and finely milled blushes and the brush stiffer. EURO are baked so they are harder to crumble and have more glow than US. But both are so good.

What I love about Chanel blushes is the quality of their products is consistent. There is no bad apple in their collection and lasts fairly long on my cheeks considering Philippines is a humid country and I love to rub my face when I get stressed at work hehehe.. It lasts 6 hours with no retouching.

Oh don't we all love  natural sunlight :)

I actually regret selling of my other JC which was Candy, a gorgeous orange blush. I might get another one if given the chance. Oh and another thing, Narcisse is a limited color and I think not readily available in Philippine market. (except Duty Free) and this is best paired with Rouge Allure in Insolente (bright pink)

I have this mindset in, when you find a product that works for you. You may stray around, but you always, always go back to what works. Just like this JC.. It's the blush whenever I want to look young, fresh, happy! What do you think?

Lemme hear your thoughts! What makes you feel young and happy?

Happy Friday everyone!!!! :) :) :)

Bourjois Healthy Mix Liquid Foundation: BEST foundation for me

Please bring Bourjois to the Philippines

As always, I want my readers to view the FULL ingredients list :)

At the back of my hand, the texture is very satin

Got this one from anothe girltalker greenpease05 from her HK Pre-Orders. It's a drugstore brand of makeup which is made in france, and according to popular rumors, same cosmetics manufacturer as Chanel Cosmetics.

Which is probably why they have a lot of things that are similar from blushes to the texture and quality of foundation. I got this one due to a lot of positive reviews.

So is it worth it? Yes yes yes

Me wearing only the foundation as my makeup, see how glowy it looks without looking makeupy

Why I like Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
  • It really does not break me out
  • Has the most natural ethereal finish I ever experienced in a liquid foundation
  • Get the right shade and it would make you look you have perfect skin, (but not look like youre wearing makeup)
  • It did last 10 hours on me
  • Very moisturizing
  • It has a satin luxurious feel upon application, it's very easy to blend too
  • Coverage is buildable without being cakey
  • Packaging is a very convinient plastic airtight pump which goes up and up and pushes the product up as you go along.
  • Affordable
What I don't like about it
It's not readily available in the Philippines!!!!!

Will I buy again?
Definitely

Girls, when I say this is holy grail material for me.. this is holy grail material for me! I have made several reviews on foundations already and this is the first time that I have to say this is HG material

Spend vs Save: Chanel Rouge Allure Laque Dragon

Because of my blogger friend Donna, I was inspired to search for cheap alternatives for high-end products. She suggested to try Careline lipglosses. I tried and was amazed with the texture, pigment, and staying power of this gloss. More of that in my next post as I bought the best colors available and swatched all of them on my lips! (individually of course)

The color Im going to feature today is the red one. Though not exactly alike, I found it to be similar to Chanel's Rouge Allure Laque in Dragon. A lip color with the right amount of gloss and color.

Swatch from Temptalia

Careline Gloss 60PHP

Haha.. pardon me for the messy application. But for 60 pesos you can't go wrong with this one. It's very long lasting and when the gloss fades, it leaves a beautiful red stain

Chanel Vitalumiere Eclat Comfort Radiance Compact Makeup Review

The feel and comfort of a cream in a pressed powder, giving you 8 HOURS OF NON-STOP RADIANCE.

All day long, the skin maintains its fresh and velvety appearance, as if the powder was just applied:
- 81% more radiance 8 hours after a single application.
- The skin texture is velvety and naturally even.
- The skin’s radiance is revived. The skin texture is velvety and naturally even.

Two applicators for two makeup results:
- With the soft touch sponge for a finish with good coverage. Gently press over entire face.
- With the soft touch sponge for a finish with good coverage. Gently press over entire face.
Use VITALUMIÈRE ÉCLAT COMPACT on its own, or after VITALUMIÈRE Fluid for a more sophisticated result.

Lack of sleep perhaps? On days we get a good night's rest, the grey dull skin is gone, but most of the time we dont get a good shut-eye w need a makeup that can make me look like we got 8 hours of rest and not look like we're trying so hard to cover it up.

Good, fake skin. This is what Chanel Vitalumiere Eclat Comfort Radiance Pact gave me. It gives a nice long lasting glowy finish sans the shimmer.

without flash

with flash (ooooh it glows..)

What I Like

  • It feels like Im wearing no foundation at all
  • Finely milled, super soft texture and when you feel your skin it's like the skin of a baby once more
  • It comes in a velvet pouch and has both a sponge and brush you can actually use!
  • No visible shimmer, just nice wonderful well-lit glow
  • Photogenic and doesnt give of an unslightly white cast
  • Melts in your skin goodness
  • Unlike other foundations, after washing this off it feels like my skin was still able to breathe and even looked better after use.
  • Refillable

What I Dont Like

  • I have normal skin and it settled into fine lines :( even with a primer. I need to check every so hours if it settled so I could just reblend it to look better.
  • Coverage is so-so
  • The scent. I wish it was fragrance-free

Who Would I Recommend This To? This foundation should suit people with dryer skin types, mature skin as it really diffuses pores and make skin look around 5 years younger at most.

I would keep this, but would still continue my search. When I was at the counter I was deciding between this one and mat lumiere, I shouldve settled for mat lumiere. It gave better coverage and finish.

Chanel Teint Innocence Compact Review

This review is long overdue, I don't even own this now (sold it off hehe)

It's a nice foundation, but not for me, still on the search for my holy grail..According to Chanel's description:

Innovative oil-free compact foundation offers luxurious glide-on application. Provides ideal medium coverage, while still revealing skin's natural beauty. Delivers greater colour purity for an even, luminous complexion.

Chanel Rouge Coco Jersey Rose : Swatch Review, and More

Just had to share.. :) Im a kitty fan!
Super cute kitty stamp happy meal from McDonalds!

Okay.. I've been blessed to have received 2 lipsticks from the 2011 Spring Collection from Chanel and the first one I've tried is Jersey Rose because a GT (girltalk) buddy requested for it. I was planning to post Flamboyante first though haha!

The formula of Rouge Coco is not something to look forward to since it can make dry lips even chappier so make sure you have a lipbalm underneath! I have quite pigmented lips and jersey rose is pigmented enough to cover that up and make my lips look fresh and juicy. haha! I cannot quite explain the color on me.. The color of this lipstick is enough to brighten up a dull face and make look dolly instead ;) ;)

A better review and swatch of this lippie can be found here

Cheaper alternative?: I got similar effects when I used Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in Pink

Review/Swatch: Chanel Joues Contraste in Candy vs In2It Sheer Shimmer Blush

I was enticed to try In2It's Sheer Shimmer blush because I read a review in girltalk that it
gives a nice glow and the packaging attracted me.

It looks like a hybrid of a Chanel Joues Contraste and Shu Glow On.

It looks so pretty in the pan.

But I don't like it so much, the name of the product is what it actually is.
It's sheer. It's shimmery. It lacks color. If you try to build up the product,
you just build up the shimmer and not the color which is very sad because I was
actually expecting so much from this.

Here are pictures of a Chanel JC and a In2It blush side by side, so pretty.

Swatches of Chanel JC in Candy besides the In2It Sheer Shimmer.

I gave it to my mom instead, the In2It blush. Im keeping my Chanel thank you :)

Dupe Alert! NYX Indian Pink vs Chanel Montecarlo

So since I have a crappy camera (oooh Im hoping hubby would keep his promise on getting me.. err us a DSLR camera this Christmas). I have no photos that I own to share and compare so I would use pictures from other blogs :\

So here's the story, I was out and about looking for a dupe for NYX's Indian Pink, it's a lovely shade of pink, peach, coral and gold. Color-wise it was perfect, however it fades, it bleeds, it feathers in a short amount of time haha I can even see it leaking to my chin (not kidding! not a pretty sight!) so I have to check when using.

According to the blogs Ive read MAC Thrills was a "dupe" or was it the other way around? So I got that and it was too coppery, too dark, and not flattering for me at all

Dropping by the Chanel counter the SA recommended me a random lippie to try, and lo-behold! Eureka! A perfect dupe!!! Its an improved version of NYX's

Different lighting but ehhh.. hehe - credits to makeupandbeautyblog & frmheadtotoe

I would try and update this post with pics that I took when I get the chance to get a good shot -_-;
