Acer Just Dropped Two Slim Laptops, and One Weighs Less Than 1kg

If you’re the kind of person who practically lives out of a laptop bag, Acer has something interesting coming.

Acer has introduced two new thin-and-light Windows 11 laptops: the Swift Blade 14 and Swift Air 16. Both are designed for people who want proper performance without having to lug around a heavy machine.

And the one that immediately caught my attention? The Swift Blade 14.

The Acer Swift Blade 14 weighs just 799g

Yes, 799 grams.

That’s ridiculously light for a 14-inch laptop, especially if you’re constantly moving between home, office, coffee shops, meetings, or wherever work happens that day.

At just 12.9mm thin, the Swift Blade 14 is built around portability without completely sacrificing performance. It can come with up to an Intel Core 7 processor 350, 12GB LPDDR5 memory and up to 1TB of storage.

For anyone who works with photos, video, presentations or generally spends way too much time staring at a screen, there’s also an option for a 3K OLED display with up to 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.

The 16:10 display, 90% screen-to-body ratio and slim 4.3mm bezels also give you more screen real estate without making the laptop itself feel bulky.

The chassis combines magnesium-aluminum alloy and carbon fiber, and it comes in Marshmallow Blue and Marshmallow White.

There’s also a 50Wh battery, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports and a front-facing FHD camera with a physical camera switch.

The Swift Blade 14 is expected to arrive in EMEA in December 2026.

Then there’s the Swift Air 16

If you prefer a bigger screen, Acer also unveiled the Swift Air 16.

It’s still pretty slim at 13.3mm and weighs 1.5kg, with an all-aluminum chassis available in Elemental Blue, Sage Green and Sandstone Gold.

Under the hood, it can be configured with up to an Intel Core 7 processor 350, up to 16GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 512GB of upgradable storage.

The display options are equally interesting, with OLED and 100% DCI-P3 or IPS with 100% sRGB. You can get up to WQXGA+ resolution, 500 nits brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate.

For those who use their laptop for both work and entertainment, Acer has added a quad-speaker setup with DTS Virtual:X, while dual Thunderbolt 4 ports take care of high-speed connectivity.

The 70Wh battery can also charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes using the included 100W adapter.

The Swift Air 16 is expected to arrive in EMEA in December 2026 and North America in Q1 2027.

So, which one?

For me, the Swift Blade 14 is the more intriguing one simply because of that 799g weight.

As someone who works across different places and already carries enough stuff in my bag, a full-sized 14-inch laptop that weighs less than a kilogram sounds very appealing.

The Swift Air 16, meanwhile, makes more sense if screen size and entertainment are higher on your priority list.

Either way, Acer seems to be leaning into a very practical kind of laptop innovation: give us the performance we need, but please don’t make us carry a brick to get it.
