Palawan Group Celebrates 40 Years of Service with Partners’ Night 2025

In a heartfelt tribute to four decades of trusted service, the Palawan Group of Companies gathered its partners, suppliers, and stakeholders for a two-day Partners’ Night on August 5 and 6, 2025, at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Bridgetown, Quezon City. The celebration honored the invaluable role of these partnerships in empowering communities through reliable and accessible financial services.

Themed “Ikaw Pa Rin, No. 1 sa Palawan”, the event shone a spotlight on the values that have defined Palawan for 40 years — matatag, maaasahan, at mapagkakatiwalaan (dependable, reliable, and trustworthy). From loyalty and growth awards to breakthrough recognitions, Palawan paid tribute to partners who have helped shape its success story. Guests came in elegant Modern Filipiniana, embracing the spirit of Gawang Pinoy, Para sa Pinoy (made by Filipinos, for Filipinos).

Day 1: Palawan for Business and ProtekTODO Partners

The first day highlighted Palawan’s Business-to-Business (B2B) arm, now rebranded as Palawan for Business, and its ProtekTODO microinsurance partners. Chief Business Development Officer Lisa Castro-Sabado shared the transformative journey of B2B, now serving over 1,700 partners and nearly 5 million insured Filipinos.

Day 2: Recognizing Local and Global Partners

Day 2 opened with the Suppliers Recognition Program, honoring behind-the-scenes partners who keep Palawan’s operations running across more than 10,000 branches and authorized agents nationwide. Chief Operations Officer Roberto Ben “Bobbit” Castro emphasized their indispensable role, while Chief Human Resources Officer Korina Castro-Fernando described them as “an extension of the Palawan team.”

The afternoon shifted to the International Partners Summit, celebrating remittance allies from around the world who help connect Filipinos to loved ones across distances. Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer Lilian Castro-Selda expressed gratitude for their role in making the world feel “a little smaller” for Filipino families.

The evening closed with recognition of Palawan’s internal teams and the unveiling of forward-looking innovations, including Pera Padala Abroad, Project Voyager, and VISA Direct. President and CEO Karlo M. Castro affirmed, “Innovation is our constant — and we take these bold steps together with you, our partners.”

A Tribute from the Founders

Founders Bobby L. Castro and Angelita M. Castro capped the celebration with heartfelt messages. Mr. Castro likened Palawan’s journey to a person turning 40 — seasoned by challenges and strengthened by time. Mrs. Castro reflected on the company’s evolution from humble beginnings in Puerto Princesa to a nationwide movement built on compassion, trust, and shared purpose.

As the night drew to a close, one thing was clear: Palawan Group’s success is not only measured by its growth, but by the strength of its relationships. With trusted partners by its side, Palawan looks forward to breaking new ground in service and innovation — for Filipinos here and around the world.
