I took these photos while in my hometown Lipa, City Batangas because I was hella bored and there was NO INTERNET CONNECTION whatsoever in our home. I had to resort to reading books, watching tv, and this one; shooting photos of makeup. This was taken a month ago too, and while you’re reading this, this review was written a week ago.  Continue reading for my review and random thoughts.

I’m so strange that way. This was sent to me as a gift and compared to my favorite Laneige BB Snow Cushion, this is way way way cheaper than it’s high-end counterpart. (Actually, Etude House is the mid-end brand of Laneige)

Initial Thoughts:

For me, this is more of a tinted moisturizer than a BB Cream or CC Cream. Why? It only specifies to control oil, provide coverage, and sun protection. For it to qualify as a BB or CC cream you have to have skincare benefits too!

How to Apply The Face Shop Oil Control Cushion SPF50 PA++

The puff is soft but not as soft as Laneige’s. It clams to be anti-bacterial tho

I apply it using a patting motion

I found it difficult to blend, it needs more slip. I had to put more effort on blending on my face.

It has a nice velvet coverage. Not dewy or oily at all. But do you agree? The shade seems to light for my actual skin tone.

Review:

Tone: It’s too pale and pink
Texture: Watery, applies thin but hard to spread out
Scent:  Fresh barely there scent.
Staying Power: 5 hours
Skin Benefits: High SPF of 50
Coverage: 6/10. It is light-medium and buildable, but apply too much and it will look fake. Keep it light.
Glowiness: 5/10. It’s more velvet than glow
Oil Control: 8/10. Maybe there’s a reason why it’s hard to spread. Maybe it helps control the oil? My face was shine-free almost the rest of the day albeit the heat and sunshine.
Will I buy again? Nope. I’m still loyal to my Laneige Snow BB Cushion
Who do I recommend it to? Girls with oily skin and those in a tight budget. At 895 with a free refill, pwede na!
What other korean makeups have you tried?
