Buy or Bye? Ponds Magic Powder Review (Blue, Pink, Magic BB) | I TRIED THEM ALL!
~Nostalgia~ I was born in the 80’s so my highschool life is circa 2000’s. How about you? What do you remember most about your youth? If you can’t relate it means you’re too young! Haha! I can remember my first “makeup” products were The Body Shop Strawberry Lip Balm that smells so good and the good ol Pond’s Beauty Powders (it comes in Blue for mattifying and Pink for rosy glow) in the Philippines. My heart felt all warm and fuzzy when I found out that Thailand still sells them. I wonder why they discontinued it here in the first place hmph!
Now they’re called Magic Powders and they come in 3 variants
- Pond’s BB Magic Powder
- Pond’s Blue Angel Face for Mattifying
- Pond’s Pink Angel Face for Pinkish White Glow
Today we’ll be reviewing each variant of Pond’s Magic Powders! You can get them at a lot of Shoppee Resellers or my favorite instagram shop @japanandkoreabeautysecrets for SRP 150 pesos each. WOW! During my days it was just around 25-35 pesos? Find out which is my favorite and if it’s a Buy or Bye!
Ponds Magic Powder Review
All 3 powders have the same ingredients (Talc, Triclosan, Fragrance and Micronised Titanium Dioxide). They probably have colorants but they’re not mentioned in the label. It mentioned UV protection but it didn’t provide an SPF so I doubt it provides ample sun protection. So you still have to use a separate sunscreen! They all smell the same. The way they did 15 years ago (YES IM THAT OLD). A mixture of youth and aging. So weird but I did miss it LOL.
Pond’s BB Magic Powder
Yep I put it on my face and I have no other makeup on. LOL. I find the texture oddly uncomfortable for a loose powder. It’s slightly thick, grainy, and not silky. It comes in a deep beige color that I think would suit a lot of morenas. But I have fair skin and it looked okay on me. When it comes to coverage, it gives an ever so light hint of color correction. Nothing that would cover pimples or discoloration. Something that most BB creams do well. I don’t get the hype.
Pond’s Blue Angel Face
Pond’s Blue Angel Face has an angelic blue color. White with a tinge of blue. Don’t worry it looks natural on your face. It’s silky to touch and feels so wonderful to apply! Look how it made my face look instantly ethereal! Regarding the oil control, it does work! Despite the summer heat and sweat, it kept my face look maaliwalas. Fresh and not an oil slick! THIS IS MY FAVORITE and is a staple when I go out and do errands.
Pond’s Pink Angel Face
Pond’s Pink Angel Face is the same as Blue except this one is Pink. I’m sure that makes any sense. Compared to its previous version 15 years ago. This one cannot serve as blush. LOL. The older version is soooooooo pink that if you overdo it, you look like a pink oompa loompa LOL. I still prefer the blue one though for the oil control! I also still find the pinkish tinge unnatural.
I hope you enjoyed my review everyone! Please do like, share and comment! I appreciate every feedback I get from you guys 🙂
