Century Park Hotel Manila welcomes the Year of the Fire Horse

Century Park Hotel welcomed the Lunar New Year with a festive Chinese New Year celebration held at its Atrium Lounge on February 16, 2026. The annual tradition brought together guests, media, and partners to mark the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse—an occasion centered on renewal, prosperity, and shared blessings.

The evening opened with an energetic dragon and lion dance performance by Philippine Ling Nam Athletic Association, Inc.. Accompanied by the steady rhythm of drums and cymbals, the performers filled the space with movement and color. In Chinese tradition, the lion and dragon dances symbolize strength, protection, and good fortune for the year ahead.

A meaningful eye-dotting ceremony

One of the most important moments of the celebration was the eye-dotting ceremony, a ritual believed to awaken the spirit of the lion and dragon. The ceremony was led by hotel owner Lucio Tan, together with his family.

The ritual reflects the hotel’s continued respect for cultural traditions and its intention to welcome the new year with positive energy and prosperity for its guests and community.

Honoring tradition and looking ahead

In her remarks, Century Park Hotel OIC for Operations Ana Dimagiba highlighted the deeper meaning behind the celebration.

Guests also enjoyed festive treats prepared for the occasion, adding to the celebratory atmosphere at the Atrium Lounge. The gathering created a warm and welcoming space where guests could come together to welcome the new year.

Special Chinese New Year dining offerings

As part of the celebration, the hotel also offered a special Chinese New Year buffet at Café in the Park, available on February 16 for dinner and February 17 for both lunch and dinner. The seasonal dining experience gave guests another way to celebrate with family and friends over traditional and festive dishes.
