How I Conquered My Fear of Socializing in E! Bloggers Ball
You would notice this when you see me in person. I am socially awkward but I try my best. I am an introvert. Thus my love for this craft of writing. Because I can freely express myself without inhibitions of external judgement. One of the perks of being a blogger is getting invited to exclusive parties and events. I was grateful to have been invited to E! Bloggers Ball this year and last year.
What?! You were invited?! Why weren’t you there?!
Because I wussed out. I got the jitters. I did a last minute backout. Shameful I know right? Oh gosh I’m glad they invited me again. I immediately said yes, but 3 days before the great night. I wanted to say “Sorry I can’t“. But I mustered enough courage and not by my self alone. It’s because of good friends who told me that I can do it.
You can do it Kaycee, we’ll be there for you and give you hugs. Hugs they did. Also with the support of my friend Dexter who was my date that night. Dexter has been my friend for more than 10 years now. He was also my college blockmate fo fo fo life and thesis partner. We’ve been through a lot and I’m glad I shared this night with him! We had so much fun catching up and also people-watching as wallflowers.
Ironically, I conquered my fear of socializing with the help of, friends.
