There’s something about this mascara’s formulation that’s easy to fall in love with. It’s buildable. Majority of mascaras nowadays provide volume and length in one or two swipes but at what cost? Clumping. I purchased a tube before and they were kind enough to send me a press sample after their official launch. My sister also bought one. How different is this from the original Volum Xpress (I miss this huhuhu). Let’s review this in an easy to digest format shall we?

Review: Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Let’s start with the brush. It’s rubberized and has a fanning shape that does separate lashes. The formulation is creamy but thin. They advertise it can go up to 4 layers without any clumping and that is indeed true. Because you need 4 layers (well, for me at least) to be satisfied. One or two barely showed any difference on volume or lash length. Wanna see?

See? This is 4 layers but it isn’t as dramatic as I want it to be. BUT. To be fair, its claim to have zero clumping is true. It’s clean and gave ample definition to my scarce eyelashes.

Here’s another angle. It’s weightless and holds the curl very well. I recommend this mascara to ladies who wants to keep it simple, clean, and fuss-free.
