|Be afraid. Be very afraid. Surpsingly I’m a skilled marksman. Kidding!
Last week, I was fortunate enough to have been invited to try out Kodanda Archery Range in Makati to try out some fun bow and arrow shooting.
I was very excited to go shoot arrows because I had this feeling in my gut I was a skilled archer like Katniss from Hunger Games where I can easily shoot an enemy from a distance with my arrow. I also imagined myself owning a bow during a future zombie apocalypse (besides owning a samurai) for long range zombie shooting. Okay, enough with the day dreams and on to the experience.
Located at the basement area of Makati Cinema Square, you get to experience archery for 550php for an hour which includes a brief instruction from a trainer. There are rules where the first whistle means shoot, second means stop shooting and put down your bow, third is to pick up your arrows from the target. Meaning, you and other shooters hit in the same time frame. There’s a specific schedule and time.
|I was inspired to hit the bulls eye.
The bow was heavy and it will take practice and effort to be able to hit the target! But I’m sure you will be able to get the hang of it in a couple of rounds.
Tip: Don’t rush things but also don’t take too long. Focus on where you want to hit (center) and strike while your grip is still strong. Holding for too long makes your grip weaker and have a tendency to shoot out of target
I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I did writing it! Please show some love by leaving a comment, sharing this post, or
|and another one!
It was a fun experience overall and it would be fun to do again. Maybe with friends and go on a bet on who will get the most hits on the bulls eye? I didn’t expect that and boy was that a good arm and back workout
! What I didn’t like too much was the place was too small and cramped, and the whistling, I wish it was more private, like per person.
You know what I want to try next time? GUN SHOOTING! *bang bang* Oh boy that would be more convenient if anyone gets on my nerves…. Kidding!
