Vegas Vacation: Tips to Remember When Planning Your First Vegas Trip
Just the thought of traveling to Las Vegas gets your heart pumping and just puts you in the mood to party and have a good time. This iconic city, also known as the “Adult’s Playground” is famous for being one of the most popular, exciting, and once-in-a-lifetime destinations to visit in the world. Why else do you think people visit there for life-changing experiences to celebrate bachelorette parties, weddings, and milestone birthdays? They go there because they want to celebrate their life-changing moments in a city that offers once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
There’s so much to do in Vegas that you will never get bored. In fact, there’s so much to do in Vegas that it’s recommended you stay for at least a week to get the most of what the city has to offer, especially if it’s your first time visiting the majestic city. If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas and it will be your first time visiting, there are a few things you’ll want to remember…
It’s Perfectly Legal to Drink on the Streets
You read correctly… it’s totally legal to walk around with a cocktail in your hand in Las Vegas, as long as it’s not in a glass container. Now, because Vegas has “laxed” liquor laws in comparison to other US cities, there has to be some type of regulations in place to prevent total chaos. According to the Las Vegas Sun, if you’re going to openly drink in the streets of Las Vegas, you can’t drink out of glass containers, in cars, or within 1,000 feet of certain establishments… simple enough right?
Vegas Is More Fun When You’re At Least 21 Years Old
Again, Vegas didn’t get the nickname of “Adult Playground” for nothing. From the gambling and party scenes to the erotic shows and crazy characters on The Strip, Vegas just has ore freedoms for people “of age” than those who aren’t. The real fun of Vegas reverts to the above enjoyment of being able to openly drink on the streets of Vegas, honestly.
There aren’t too many cities, if any at all, that allows you to openly drink on the street without getting some type of charge against you. This is probably the biggest perk visitors enjoy most. Now, that doesn’t mean that people who aren’t of age to drink won’t have fun but they’ll just have a different type of fun but Vegas truly is fun for all ages.
Pack Several Outfits and Accessories for Various Activities and Events
It was mentioned earlier that there’s so much to do in Vegas that you will never get bored, right? Yes, so in knowing that, you’ll need to pack different types of outfits that are fitting for the various activities you’ll be doing. The best way to make sure you’ve packed the right items for your Vegas trip is to create a travel checklist. Your Vegas checklist needs to include, but not limited to, the following items:
- Swimsuits/swim trunks
- Party outfits
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Tennis shoes/ dress shoes
- Leisure outfits
- hats/jewelry
Don’t Forget to Stop By Your Hotel’s Concierge Desk
One of the biggest mistakes you could make is to not stop by the concierge’s desk at your hotel. Why is that? Because they are the ones who can get your name on the VIP guest list for access to some of Las Vegas’ hottest pool parties and nightclubs. Not only that but your hotel’s concierge staff can get you discounted tickets to some of Vegas’ biggest shows and attractions.
Travelers who visit Vegas quite often will quickly tell you to never pay full price for various attractions and events because there are so many ways to attend those shows and events at a lower price. So as soon as you get to your hotel and get settled in, the next move you make needs to be making a visit to your concierge desk.
Vegas is Also Kid-Friendly
Yes, it was mentioned earlier that Vegas is more fun for adults but it was also stated that for those visiting who are not of age can also have fun too, especially kids. The fact that Vegas has a kid-friendly side to it may come as a huge shock to lots of people but it’s true. Some of Vegas’ biggest kid-friendly attractions include:
- Adventuredome in Circus Circus Hotel
- Discovery Children’s Museum
- Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay
- Madame Tussaud’s
- Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N
- M&M’s World
So as you can see, there’s plenty of attractions for kids to engage in, and the great thing is that the above is not even a fraction of all the kid-friendly attractions there are for kids. If you want to plan a family trip to Vegas, don’t shy away from it because it’s the “Adult’s Playground”… there’s plenty for families of all ages to do and enjoy, you just have to figure out what kind of trip you want your Vegas trip to be to determine the kind of fun you’ll have.
