Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Duo Swatch/Review
What? Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color Duo
How much / Price? 18 USD
Where to buy? Mary Kay Distributors
Mary Kay Philippines was kind enough to send me a few of their products to try. So today I will be featuring their Mineral Cheek Color Duo. It’s in a refill where you can put it inside their custom palettes as seen in the photo below. Mary Kay has been around the Philippines for years now thru distributors but to be honest I rarely see them active in social media (they don’t even have an official instagram account or facebook) and the internet which I find a bit sad because they do have products from skincare to makeup that have potential.
I got 2 shades: Ripe Watermelon and Spiced Guava. What I’ll feature is Ripe Watermelon
Product Description
Brush on a healthy glow with Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color Duo. The product is so versatile, it delivers a sheer or saturated glow. Choose from three buildable shades: Spiced Poppy, Ripe Watermelon and Juicy Guava.
With the NEW Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color Duo, you can wear it sheer or build it up bold. Here’s how to can get multiple cheek effects from the same palette:
- Barely-There Beauty – Add a sheer wash of matte color using the Juicy Guava mineral cheek color duo. TIP: Add a quick dusting of highlighter just above the matte cheek color, then buff with a clean cheek brush for the softest diffused glow.
- Boldly Accented – Get bold cheek definition by concentrating a pop of matte, buildable color from the Juicy Guava mineral cheek color duo. TIP: Help a bold cheek pop even more by strategically brushing highlighter across upper cheekbones.
- Vibrant Luminosity – Swirl both the matte shade and the highlighter together to brush on a fresh, luminous glow.
This is their blank palette where you can put your Mary Kay Makeup
It fits!
Ripe Watermelon is a beautiful shade of bright cotton candy pink. It’s reminiscent of NARS Desire albeit more sheer.
It also comes with a matching highlighter. You know how “strobing” is all the rage lately
When the blush and highlighter swatched
It comes with a small goat hair brush that gets the product nicely, and applies on cheeks very well. It is a bit scratchy though and the product gives a lot of fallout.
It looks bright when directly swatched using fingers but actually applies sheer when the brush is used. It lasts a good 3 hours with no retouching. I prefer using the blush on its own because the highlighter is chalky. What I like about their Mineral Cheek Color Duo is how it blends naturally on your cheeks. It looks like you just worked ran on the treadmill for 2 hours. Ripe Watermelon applies a natural pink shade that can blend to skin regardless if you have a yellow undertone or pink undertone.
