Olay Pore Minimizing CC Cream Review

Before anything else, I’d like to greet my lola Olive and dedicate this post for her. She’s my grandma and an absolute die-hard Olay fan. I got to know Olay because of her. When I was around 6 or 7 and went rummaging around her kikay kit, I remember using her Olay Beauty Lotion (the classic pink one in the bottle) and poured it all over my barbie’s hair to use as a make-believe conditioner. She used it everyday until now. She’s 84 years old and I think she looks beautiful for her age.

When we received a box of goodies from Olay, she was estatic! She told me “Kaycee pag may Total Effects dyan, yung regular lang, akin na lang ha?” and I told her “Oo naman lola, ikaw na din ang mag-review ha kunan kita ng pictures!”

Alas, she was a bit disappointed because what I got was the latest product from Olay which is their Pore Minimizing CC Cream. Me? I’m excited! Haha! I get to keep and use the product for myself harharhar lalo na it’s a CC cream + Pore Minimizing Combo.  But I want to make my lola happy so I told her “Lola bibili na lang kita ng Total Effects mo 🙂”

Texture: Just as I’ve mentioned, it’s between cream and lotion. It doesn’t feel like it has silicones (pore clogging) so it’s not as slippery as most BB or CC creams.

Scent: Strong soapy floral. It smells just like your Olay Total Effects Moisturizer

Staying Power: If you don’t sweat or just stay in an airconditioned place it will last you the whole day. But on an active day, since this isn’t waterproof it will stay as long as your face doesn’t get wet.

Skin Benefits: From its name alone, it promises visibly smaller and tighter pores. Better paired with Olay’s Pore Minimizing Toner for maximum results. It also blurs out skin making it appear smoother and finer. Long term? It doesn’t clog our pores! I found an image on another beauty blogger from singapore that compared to other brands, Olay doesn’t stick to our faces and is easily removed with cleanser.

Coverage: 3/10 better use a concealer if you have pimples or scars

Glowiness: 8/10.  Glowy galore! See photos. Need I explain more? It’s glowy but not shimmery.

Oil Control: 7/10. While it gives a nice glowy finish, it’s formulation surprisingly helps control unwanted sebum secretion. It’s probably because of it’s pore minimizing ingredients. Oil = bigger pores.

Will I buy again? A most definite YES.

Who do I recommend it to? I can actually recommend this to

a.) Ladies who’re not looking for coverage, just clean, fresh skin and are after the skin care benefits.

b.) MEN! Yes. This is the perfect CC Cream for men because it doesn’t have coverage at all and make you look like an espasol or too made up that it lowers down your level of testosterone. Pang alis haggard lang.
