Review: Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Palette 1 (Photos, Swatches)

What? Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Palette 1
Where to buy? ulta.com, amazon.com, sephora.com
How much? 42USD approx 1,890php
I’ve always been on a lookout for a good basic neutral eyeshadow pallette because hey, who doesn’t need more neutrals? These are the colors you can use anywhere anytime. Smokey, natural, avant garde makeup. The cheapskate in me resorted to cheaper palettes such as the one I got from Fashion 21 or Jazzy Pinkies Collection (the pinkies palette leaps better in quality than fashion 21’s) and I definitely got what I paid for.
I decided to kick the scrimp out of me and try something else. I was torn between this and Urban Decay’s Naked Palettes but reviewers and most bloggers attest that this palette is the most balanced and best in terms of value. Since it both has a range of neutral and shimmers.

Go PRO with the LORAC PRO Palette! Created by celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw, this PRO artistry palette is packed with 8 shimmer and 8 matte eye shadows in all the shades you need to create the hottest looks straight from the Red Carpet. LORAC’s velvety-smooth shadows are infused with soothing botanicals and are ultra-pigmented to perform wet or dry so you can shade, shadow, line and define your eyes, just like a PRO. PRO Palette contains 16 Eye Shadows and a Mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer for stay-true color that lasts, a PRO must-have!

Shades Include:

  • Top Row (Matte): White, Cream, Taupe, Light Pink, Mauve, Sable, Espresso and Black

Bottom Row (Shimmer): Nude, Champagne, Gold, Light Bronze, Pewter, Garnet, Deep Purple and Slate.
A $110 value!

REVIEW

It’s my first time to own an expensive eyeshadow palette, because I used to have a belief before that there are affordable eyeshadows in the market so no need to purchase pricey ones. BUT After trying Lorac’s Pro Palette, I think I understand now why most people especially makeup artists spend more on their makeup. It’s packaging alone is adorable. A sleek black carton encasing 16 different eyeshadows with a big mirror to boot! The texture is silky smooth and there are no duds in the palette. There’s minimal fall out with the shimmery shades although the matte selection could use a bit of improvement because most of them are highlight or base colors such as white and pink.  Everything is wearable and can be worn in different sets of ways.  This is a great palette if you want a nude alternative to Urban Decay’s Naked. These shadows last 5 hours on me without any primer. It also blends well I can easily apply it using just my fingers! Oh Lorac! You’ve got me hooked back to makeup again!
What could be improved? This would be awesome if they included an eyeliner or a eyeshadow brush inside so we can enclose it in.

AFFORDABLE ALTERNATIVES

  1. Sleek i-Divine Palette (Storm, Original, Au Naturele) I recently indulged in getting 1 additional palette in Garden of Eden and got 2 blush sets. I’m so excited to share my review of these soooon!
  2. Wet N Wild Eyeshadows – The only drawback is it’s flimsy packaging
  3. Jazzy
I’m also lemming for Tarte’s limited edition Away Oui Go Palette! *drools*
