Why hello there y’all! Miss me? I missed you! Honestly it’s been like 10 years since I genuinely wrote on this blog. Ever since that weird take down, I’ve been focusing on my other website, The Macho Mom instead. However, honestly speaking, after a tremendous drop in traffic because of lack of original content, and mostly just publishing press releases – it seems that Google’s SEO has judged KikaySikat for the worse.
Okay, now that I’ve explained my part, let’s go back to the reason why you clicked this story in the first place! To find out beauty products that BeautyTokers (Beauty Tiktokers) regret buying! Like you, like me, watching quickie short videos is fun, but not handy if I’m out and about researching what to buy or shopping.
I. NEED. TO. READ.
This is Volume 1, of which I hope many to come, and I also hope to feature as many up and coming beauty influencers, locally and abroad!
Disclaimer: What worked for me, for them, for us, may not work for anyone else so please take these thoughts with a grain of salt. ALSO nothing against the products or brands because everything shared here are honest opinions only.
Vol 1: Makeup Products BeautyTokers Regret Buying
Product Description: The super creamy formula with buildable coverage actually helps improve the appearance of your complexion to reveal better skin. It’s packed with potent botanicals, peptides and hyaluronic acid that hydrate, visibly plump and give a smooth, radiant finish.
Why the regret? Didn’t really cover dark circles, was cakey, thick, and you could see the fine lines under your eyes. It smells kind of funky too.
Refy Sculpt Lip Liner and Setter
Product Description: REFY Lip Sculpt is a dual ended Lip Liner and Setter available in six shades to suit every skin tone and create the perfect neutral lip.
Why the regret? Flimsy. The second it was opened, it broke. The packaging is difficult to open.
Rare Beauty Liquid Blush in Grace
(I personally disagree though! I like mine)
Product Description: A weightless, long-lasting liquid blush that blends and builds beautifully for a soft, healthy flush, available in matte and dewy finishes.
Why the regret? Nothing special. Texture common to other liquid blush, color not flattering.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask
Product Description: This sweetly fragrant sleeping mask removes dead skin cells while infusing lips with berry extracts, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid so your lips are supple and smooth by the time you wake up.
Why the regret? Nothing special. Too pricey for what it can do. According to the BeautyToker, a jar of Blistex can do the same.
Rare Beauty Foundation
Product Description: Pure pigments are packed in a super fluid, serum-like base, making it easier than ever to blend and build your coverage just how you like it—a little really goes a long way. Evens out skin tone and smooths the look of pores.
Why the regret? Made her face look so tired and dry, and it bunches up everywhere.
Happy Skin Lip Slip
Product Description: A nourishing yet weightless tinted lip balm, it glides on lips to offer a moisturizing boost that keeps dry flakes, chapped skin, and fine lines at bay.
Why the regret? Most DRYING lipbalm she has ever tried.
BLK Cosmetics Airy Matte Perfecting Foundation
Product Description: The airy, translucent pigment blends to instantly brighten the complexion and leaves a natural-looking, soft-focus finish.
Why the regret? This powder clings to dry patches and textures.
Dior Addict Lip Tattoo
Product Description: With its 12-hour wear,* comfortable formula and weightless no-transfer finish, the colour fuses to the lips like a tattoo just seconds after application.
Why the regret? According to Ms Gelai, it’s just a glorified lip tint.
Sunnies Face Air Blush
Product Description: Airblush comes in a unique cream-to-powder formula that blends seamlessly onto your skin for the perfect soft-blurred flush, featuring 12 easy to wear shades
Why the regret? The blush only lasts up to 10 minutes on your face max.
Among the products mentioned, I own the Rare Beauty Liquid Blush and the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask and I have to disagree with their thoughts. The blush is super easy to blend, and lasts a long time despite having a dewy finish; while the lip sleeping mask is uber moisturising – more so than a regular Carmex!
