Some Tips to Start Braincation

The rise of digital technology has certainly increased the amount of information we encounter each day. This can cause overload on our systems and can have a detrimental effect not only on our ability to focus, but also on our long-term brain health. Unfortunately, our brains haven’t evolved to deal with this drastic change. As we constantly switch between tasks, our brains aren’t designed to multitask and therefore it makes us stressed. Our productive is affected.

We can rejuvenate our brain despite having a busy schedule. Here are some ways to begin braincation:

  1. Don’t deprive yourself of sleep. If you constantly travel, make sure you maintain a normal sleep pattern wherever you go. It is important that you get enough sleep whether you’re at home or in another place. Choose a mattress that’s right for your sleep style and preferences to help you stay comfortable.
  2. Avoid specific drinks. Don’t drink alcohol before you sleep. Sure, alcohol can help you sleep faster, but it can actually wake you up at night. It hinders sleep, just like caffeinated drinks. As much as possible, don’t reach for a cup of Joe after 2PM.
  3. Drink water. Hydrate yourself every day to stay healthy and relaxed. It is advised that you drink at least half a liter of water based on every 15KG of your body weight. This should be applied especially if you’re traveling.

Your body isn’t the only thing that needs rest; your brain does too. A braincation can be done in many parts of the world as long as you can de-stress and keep yourself away from any mental challenges.

For the past 7 weeks, I get less than four hours of sleep a day. Pag rest day ko na, that’s the only time na I can sleep for as much as seven hours a night. Sobrang nakaka-ngarag talaga yung kulang ka lagi sa tulog.
