DC Cafe Philippines Review | The Good, Bad, and the Ugly
Heads up! This is a *photo heavy* post so prepare your data and $$$. It may not seem like it, nor is it obvious on my blog because I rarely write it here. But I’m a low-key comic book casual and resident girl geek. That’s why I was super excited when received an invitation for the media preview of DC Super Heroes Cafe Philippines located in 4th Floor SM Megamall Fashion Hall.
Kikaysikat Says: I visited the cafe with my good friends Earth from earthlinggorgeous.com, Marcus, and Luis! Please read everything from start-finish just like a comic book please!
No, sorry I have no loyalties. I embrace all brands from DC, Marvel, Jump! and even Vertigo. Imagine if there was an entire comic book cafe no? A girl can dream. Okay enough about that. Let’s talk about the cafe! THE GOOD. THE BAD. THE UGLY.
DC Cafe Philippines Menu & Price
The Good
The interiors of the cafe is set-up beautifully that it instantly transports you inside a comic book the moment you step inside. It has backgrounds of DC’s superstars like Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, and Superman.

I had low expectations for the food at first. In my head was “Oh this is probably another instagrammable cafe with crappy food“. BUT IT’S NOT! The food was delicious. The menu was developed by expert chefs from Lovacore Kitchen and from the same family with Satchmi. Each dish has complex but homey flavors inspired with each character and theme it’s connected to.
My favorite was the Joker’s Spicy Taro Latte. It’s a shock in your mouth but keeps you coming back for more. HaHaHaHaHa!

The Bad
Because of the overwhelming response from the crowd. Even just on their opening day last June 23rd, here is the bad news. They’re on soft opening until further notice. Cafe is open from 6pm til closing. Still perfect since you can go after office-hours or weekend dates.
The Ugly
aaaaaand..The attitude of some people who would instantly give a 1 star! Because the overwhelming number of people who came that day. Not everyone got accommodated. I can understand giving them a 3-star or a 4? But a 1? That’s too much! Constructive criticisms are welcome. Let’s educate, not hate.
Here are some of the reviews I screencapped from their facebook page.
In Conclusion
The good parts still trumps the bad. Just like most stories in our comic books. But looks like we’re stuck in a cliff-hanger until the soft-opening ends.
