Food Trip: IZAKAYA KIKUFUJI Japanese Restaurant Review (Little Tokyo, Makati)

If you do not have the patience to wait for the best, absolutely one of the most delicious and affordable Japanese food you can get. Then I suggest that you go look somewhere else. Always packed with people, Izakaya Kukifuji restaurant at Little Tokyo, Makati is the place to satisfy your utmost japanese food cravings.

I had a few business meetings to Makati that day and decided to give my former colleague, still friend, Paul, a visit. My tummy has been craving for Japanese lately. Paul is one of the few persons I know (like me) who appreciates good food regardless of cost. He suggested we go to Izakaya Kukifuji in Little Tokyo as early as 11AM.

We arrived there with only a handful of people in so we were able to get seats (in the bar though but it’s okay). I ordered Niku Udon. Thick noodles with miso broth and loaded with beef sukiyaki. Asparagus bacon, and Kobe Beef BBQ. WITH RICE OF COURSE HAHAHA. Paul got their 250php set meal that includes spicy tuna sashimi, veggies, miso soup, iced coffee, japanese rise, and grilled salmon. Then we shared the spicy salmon roll.

The Niku Udon was seasoned perfectly and was very filling. It costs 280php but worth every penny.

The bbq sticks I ordered could use a little bit more salt.

Their sashimi and sushi rolls are addicting!

Our total bill amounted to 1,200php. It was very hearty and filling. If I got a set meal like Paul suggested, our total would cost only 500php. But the glutton in me wanted to try everything sooooo hehe. The service is a bit slow and took around 20-30 minutes to complete our orders but it was so good we forgot we waited that long. I shall return to Izakaya Kukifuji for another round of meals. Writing this blog post now makes me miss it already huhuhu.
