Review: Tenya Tempura Tendon at BGC Stopover
I have a new Japanese food addiction and it’s no other than TEMPURA. My Niku Udon phase is finally over and it’s now replaced by glorious shrimp covered in crispy tempura batter. I have tried several from different restaurants but my current favorite is Tenya Tempura. They have branches in MOA, BGC, and SM Megamall. Geof and I just came from a spa session at Suaviss and boy oh boy were are stomachs grumbling. I was so happy that just below Suaviss is TENYA TEMPURA! What is tempura? is a Japanese dish of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried. (source: wikipedia). Tenya Tempura Tendon is the only food place that I know of…
Best Niku Udon in Metro Manila – You’ll Be Surprised!
It takes a few visits to a certain restaurant or food joint before I get pumped up to write an article. Believe it or not. The best tasting Niku Udon I have ever tried so far will only cost you 150 pesos. Yes! If you’ve been following me on my social media accounts, you’ll notice how much of a Japanese food lover I am.I explore different places from cheap to expensive. I also get obsessed on a certain food for months (part of being bipolar) I have tried Niku Udon from the likes of Nadai Fujisoba (very popular), Yayoi Teishoku, and Izakaya Kikufuji. Their Udon ranges from 350 pesos above. They’re quite good,…
Review: Jin-Zai Takoyaki
Before I critique a restuarant or any food place, I usually need to visit the place more than 3 times. That’s to ensure if the food, service, and quality is consistent. Jin-Zai Takoyaki is no exception. They say a good authentic takoyaki must have the following characteristics: It should have octopus cabbage, pickled ginger, stock, and quality takoyaki flour. Don’t forget the octopus The takoyaki should be crispy-chewy on the outside, and soft custard-like on the inside Last but not the least, it should be addictively delicious! JIN-ZAI TAKOYAKI REVIEW This was legit the first time that I tried a good takoyaki. Most takoyaki sold in malls taste generic, lack flavor, and just plain bland.…
Food Trip: IZAKAYA KIKUFUJI Japanese Restaurant Review (Little Tokyo, Makati)
If you do not have the patience to wait for the best, absolutely one of the most delicious and affordable Japanese food you can get. Then I suggest that you go look somewhere else. Always packed with people, Izakaya Kukifuji restaurant at Little Tokyo, Makati is the place to satisfy your utmost japanese food cravings. I had a few business meetings to Makati that day and decided to give my former colleague, still friend, Paul, a visit. My tummy has been craving for Japanese lately. Paul is one of the few persons I know (like me) who appreciates good food regardless of cost. He suggested we go to Izakaya Kukifuji in Little Tokyo as…
Yayoi Japanese Teishoku Restaurant Review – SM Megamall
Hello guys! As of the time writing this, my website is down due to my hosting server’s negligence. It has been down for 3 days now which is costing me a lot of unnecessary stress. So instead of brooding that “I can’t blog”, I decided to write the blog post the old school way. Via notepad. Notepad never fails me. It’s fast and does it’s job well, write texts, keep texts. Today, I’ll be sharing with you my Yayoi Japanese Teishoku Restaurant Review (pronounced as Ya-Yoy). It comes as no surprise that when ranking cuisines my favorites would be: 1. Filipino 2. Japanese 3. American 4. Korean 5. European (broad I know) What I love…
Food Review: Taisho Ramen at Light Mall
I wouldn’t have dined in this place if it weren’t for my bus overheating and leaving us to evaporate under the heat of EDSA. Never again shall I ride a bus going to-from Lipa with JAC liner. They always break down. Well I was starving and good thing a mall is nearby. The Light Mall by SM along Edsa Pioneer. Gah I heard of Taisho Ramen from my cousin and she told me it’s one of the best she’s tried so I had to taste for myself. I forgot to take a photo of the menu because my mind was to occupied to feasting right away. But their regular ramen price ranges from…
Food: Ramen Kuroda at RCBC Plaza Makati
Now this will not be an extensive “review” of Ramen Kuroda in RCBC Plaza. Rather an appreciation of their Kuro Ramen (black ramen) which consists of thick tonkatsu broth, noodles, leeks, egg, pork loins and roasted garlic (that’s why it’s black) How much is a bowl? A regular bowl of ramen will cost you 180php. I’d like to have extra protein so if you get the 230php priced one, you’d get 2 more extra pork loin slices! I like my ramen with lots of sesame seeds, sesame oil, and chili to give it that extra kick. When I used to work here, this was my go-to place for comfort food especially when stressed.…
Review: Genki Sushi BGC + Food Porn
It’s official. Genki Sushi in Bonifacio Global City Stopover (BGC) is now my favorite Japanese food joint. I’m quite particular with quality maki, sushi and sashimi but most of the time, they’re quite expensive and located in discreet places. When I saw my friend Helga’s timeline posting her sushi experience I immediately asked her where so I can visit. So I’m sharing you my experience, the menu, and the review. Address: Located at 2/F Bonifacio Stopover, Rizal Drive corner 31st Street, BGC While I’m typing now, Im thinking of going there for lunch tomorrow. Kahit pilay ako ngayon. Woohoo.. I’m craving… I’m so hungry…. Tokyo tokyo na nga lang muna @_@. If a picture…
