HONEST REVIEW: SUNNIES FACE FLUFFMATTE LIPSTICK

Ah one of the most talked about launches of the year. The Sunnies Face Fluffmatte Lipstick (ask your favorite blogger why hehe). I had to wait it out for a few months before buying my own tube. Because just like you, I wanted to make sure my makeup purchase was at least worth it.  So was it?

SUNNIES FACE FLUFFMATTE LIPSTICK

For reference I have a Warm Light-Medium skintone. Usually wearing MAC NC25 or Estee Lauder Doublewear in 2W2 in Rattan.

Review

Packaging – Since I ordered late, what I received was their special holiday edition packaging. Which as a frosted semi-opaque tube resembling Shu Uemura’s packaging.

Coverage – One swipe is enough for the pigment to provide saturated color on my lips. Both Baked and Major have the same amount of coverage.

Color – Both shades are flattering on my skin tone. IMO they’re perfectly formulated to fit EVERY skin color there is. A good amount of brainstorming time went into developing this product I’m sure.

Texture – Definitely more moisturizing than MAC’s Retro Matte. The reason why I even picked the shade Major is because I’ve been searching high and low for a more moisturizing dupe for my HG Red, Ruby Woo. I saw some Youtube reviews saying that the texture for each shade is inconsistent. Particularly their rose shades (girl crush, 143). Some are harder to apply than others.

I had no issues with Baked and Major. Both are even becoming favorites. It applies and feels like velvet.

Scent – It doesn’t have any extra fragrance so it smells like your lipstick chemicals.

Longevity – I have thicker lips than most women and I fade the lipstick out using my fingers to give that gradient look. It doesn’t bleed when I do that in my case. Some mentioned that they had to use lip liners to keep their lipstick in place. So I guess to each his/her own?

Both Major and Baked last a good 5 hours even after drinking and eating. It fades out evenly and leaves a nice stain.

Price – 345php for a quality lipstick like this one is a good deal.

Thoughts – Overall I say my purchase is worth it. I’m happy enough to purchase additional shades from their shop. I’m eyeing Nudist and Milkshake. 🙂
