REVIEW: Maine for MAC Lipstick | Yung Totoo!

I’m late to join the Maine for MAC party. I know. Partly because I was hesitant to purchase a 1,100 tube of lipstick that has 50% chance of working on my complexion. They don’t have samples to try (of course, no one would dare sample it was out of stock in Lazada in just 1 minute) and I’m too frugal to risk it.

I was looking around for swatches on-line and the lipstick looks different on every person. It’s not the 1 shade will suit all kind. Let’s be honest. It’s a hit/miss.

Good thing my #BloggerBabes friend Christine of All About Beauty brought her tube when we went out on a girl bonding date to drink milk tea while watching Carlo Aquino and Angelica Panganiban’s reunion movie Exes Baggage (OMG Carlo Aquino suddenly became 200% hotter no?)

REVIEW: Maine Mendoza for MAC Lipstick

Packaging: I was expecting to see the special 7 kissmarks on the tube but alas it’s only on the cardboard box. It comes in the classic black MAC bullet lipstick we all know and love.

Formula: On my experience it seems to be in between a Matte/Satin formula. It’s not as drying like the retro mattes and still applies creamy smooth with a matte finish.

The shade? A muted peach beige and is similar to MAC’s popular nude lipstick shades; Spirit, Velvet Teddy, and Brave. To be honest I had ZERO expectations on how this would look on me. I’ve read reviews that it made their lips look ghostlike, or made them look pale.

I LOVE IT!!!!

Heck that’s why I didn’t get myself a tube on its launch but wowza! I was surprised it looked good on my light-neutral complexion! On my pigmented lips (they’re pinkish on their own) its nude peach that warms up my face. Sorta makes me look “friendlier” HAHAHA and I love it!  Look at my try-on video below to see how shookt I was XD

Who do I recommend this to? 

Pinays who have warm complexions with naturally rosy lips. The formula is a bit sheer so if you’re a smoker with blackish lips it will look gray.

Where to buy Maine for Mac Lipsticks?

Each lipstick will retail for P1,100 MAC boutiques nationwide on September 23. Worldwide, Maine’s lipstick may be purchased on maccosmetics.com by November. I’ve already spotted a lot of hoardes who’s racking up the price due to its limited edition aspect. I’m definitely getting myself a tube soon!
