SWATCH & REVIEW | Fenty Beauty Ma’damn Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick
Now ever since Fenty Beauty was launched, I always wanted to purchase something from the makeup line. I first considered getting the always coveted foundation. But the mixed reviews got to me and I already have Estee Lauder Doublewear as my holy grail liquid foundation. Highlighters? I’ve played around using my friends’ and I wasn’t impressed. They were dupe-able by more affordable brands. The highlighters wasn’t something that stood out to me.
Now here comes the Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick (SRP 1,199 via Sephora.ph). She also has liquid versions but I prefer the classic cream formulation. Why? Because it has a longer shelf-life (1-2 years) vs liquid (6 months). Being the playsafe that I was, I purchased the top-selling color and the safest one. RED. The shade name? Ma’damn.

REVIEW
Packaging
Lovin the small silver tube. It’s very classy and the snap closure is very secure. Makes me feel extra special when retouching in front of the mirror.
Coverage
Opaque. One layer is enough.
Texture
Drier than the usual creams, but better than MAC’s Retro Matte *cough Ruby Woo cough*. It needs a bit of tug to glide. But not dry as a crayon.
Scent
No lipstick scent. I barely detect any fragrance.
Longevity
Lasts a good 5 hours on me tops, even in the inner part of the lips. I’m amazed how it somehow fuses in. Other lipsticks leave a stain on the outer lips and leave the inner bare.
Price
1,199 for 1.7g
PROS
- Good staying power
- Color is universally flattering
- Classy chic packaging
CONS
- May be drying to some
- Expensive. 1,199 may initially look reasonable but think about it. It’s a measly 1.7 grams of product.
