What’s your perfume story? Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Eau De Toilette always has a special place in my heart. I remember catching a whiff of this from my highschool classmate who’s ironically a popular cheer leader. I couldn’t afford to buy my own bottle so I settled for dupes like the Dew Drops from Lewis and Pearl (yes they smell similar). So my highschool is basically lewis-pearl scented. The first time I finally scored one of my own was a birthday gift from my mom when I was in college. After a couple of months, I switched to it’s similar sister Moschino Cheap and Chic I Love Love. Compared to Light Blue, I Love Love has bitter undernotes. My love for Cheap and Chic ended together with my breakup of my first boyfriend and ended with the same notes. Bitter.

During the first years of my previous marriage, I was using L’anvin Eclat D’Arpege Eau de Parfum. It was softer, more floral, less fruity than my D & G counterpart. IT absolutely smells lovely when I smell it on others, but on me, it transforms into something generic. It never blended well with my chemistry. So as I dumped L’anvin, as my marriage broke and ended. Everything happens for a reason though.
Fast-forward to 2016. I was content with the classic Chanel No. 5 when my olfactory senses yearned for something different, something new yet nostalgic at the same time. Just like falling in love, D&G Light Blue finally came at the right moment. It’s fresh, invigorating, romantic and cozy. My bi-polar ADHD tendencies would probably make me want to sniff and try other fragrances (perfumes only! I won’t stray in any relationship) but D&G will always remain in my heart forever.
