Slimming Supplements in the Philippines – What I Think

Now before I get negative reactions like “You’re not fat you don’t need to feature this” Let me tell you my story first. Ever since I was in elementary, I can remember my mom always had trouble managing her weight. Of course, she used to be slim, but after giving birth and gaining a lot of excess weight, she didn’t have the time to exercise regularly or keep her diet in check thus the difficulty in weight loss.

She resorted to taking slimming pills. The different slimming pills she bought in the Philippines had different effects on her. Yes, they do work. All of them did. But each and every one of those pills had a nasty side effect. You have to suffer the consequences. It eventually took a toll on her, and even affected our family, including myself. I’ll be reviewing each slimming pill bought in the Philippines in chronological order including its effects.

This was the first one that my mom took. I can remember it was in different colors, a lot of pills and there’s a specific schedule to be followed. She dropped weight in a snap! I think she shed more than 3 dress sizes in a month. The side effects? Heart palpitation, thirst, loss of appetite, fatigue,  mood swings, and yes the pills were addictive. I’m glad it was made illegal and banned. She stopped taking them because she can no longer find someone who sells them. I was in elementary. There were rumors these pills has “shabu” in them. This was the most effective slimming pills in the Philippines back then.

Ballerina Slimming Pills / Zhen de Shou Slimming Pill (Chinese Slimming Pills)

I was in between highschool and college when my mom discovered them being sold in Chinese drugstores. The sellers kept pushing this product and saying it was safe and side-effect free. My mom, being desperate to lose weight as she did took the chance and bought them (It costs so cheap around 100 pesos per box!) She did lose weight but really not enough. Not only that, she suffered strong migraines, heart palpitations, and excessive sweat. She also had loose bowel movement a lot. Dehydration. No matter how much water she drank the effects were the same. Devastating. The weight loss is not worth the bad side effects.  Nasty side effects.

I was in college during that time and weighed 102lbs. I BOUGHT AND TOOK BALLERINA PILLS MYSELF. I was so deluded that being thin is equivalent to being perfect that even with my small frame and light weight, I still wanted to shed the excess pounds. I took these pills for 2 months. I suffered a lot. I lost my appetite, couldn’t focus at school. I pooped a lot and I didn’t get hungry.

We stopped taking this when we saw the news of people having liver failure and dying because of taking these Chinese Ballerina weight loss pills. If not for that, we may have become the victims ourselves. These are diet pills that work fast in the Philippines.

ZHEN DE SHOU SLIMMING PILL INGREDIENTS (According to box)

Crategus pinnatifida, safflower, gingko-nut, cassia see and alga (luoxuanzao in Chinese). Ingredients vary greatly by manufacturer. (Kikaysikat says: Vary by manufacturer? What?!)
